Did You Hear That Book Cover?

Oftentimes I browse through a bookstore and pass by rows of books in silence, but then BAM! Out of nowhere I hear a scream. It’s an extraordinary book cover bellowing out, “Grab me! Buy me! Read me!”

I know the saying—don’t judge a book by its cover, but in my opinion, covers are there for a good reason. To draw in readers. Okay, so the cover doesn't determine the quality of writing or its ability to keep my interest, but it, along with a great title, is the initial attraction that influences me to read the blurb.

Below are a few covers that recently shouted out to me.

I love book covers. They reveal just enough of the story to rope me in. What book covers have recently screamed at you?

Oh, I LOVE talking about book covers. Lately there's more and more coming out that are just works of art. I also loved The Unbecoming cover and Before I Fall.

Anna Dressed in Blood recently caught my eye. My all time favourite is the hardcover of Men of the Otherworld by Kelly Armstrong. (with the dude crouching) That one pulled me across the whole bookstore to purchase it.
I think you've just inspired me to do my own post on favourite covers!

The book cover for Grave Robbers instantly grabbed me, Samantha. Stunningly haunting!

It is third on my TBR pile, and I can't wait to read it. I think I might even have to skip my tbr #2. lol

Thank you for visiting. :)

I agree! Covers totally speak to me, telling me to pick the book up when I see one that stands out. Out of these, THE DOVEKEEPERS, DON'T BREATHE A WORD, and GRAVE ROBBERS totally stand out to me.

I haven't read Dovekeepers yet, but the other two are good reads, Penelope.

I love book covers! Not seeing the cover (other than the initial look) when reading stories on my Nook or Kindle is one of the drawbacks (for me anyway) of not holding a paper copy in my hands.
